Curated reads
Fiction that lingers, essays that rearrange your afternoon, and small-press finds you will not see everywhere else. Our table is stacked with staff picks and seasonal themes—always something worth carrying home.
Ashford, Oregon · a neighborhood nook
A small shop for curated reads, leafy companions, and the unhurried pleasure of browsing—books in one hand, tea in the other.
We opened Leaf & Letter because a home feels more alive with paper and chlorophyll—dog-eared novels beside a fern in the window, poetry pressed between pottery and trailing vines. Nothing here is rushed. We choose every title and every plant the way you might choose a gift for a dear friend: with care, and a little delight.
Whether you are hunting a rainy-afternoon read, a statement plant for a bright corner, or simply a quiet hour among shelves and soil, you are welcome exactly as you are.
Fiction that lingers, essays that rearrange your afternoon, and small-press finds you will not see everywhere else. Our table is stacked with staff picks and seasonal themes—always something worth carrying home.
Low-light friends for apartments, statement leaves for sunny sills, and vessels chosen to feel as good in the hand as on the shelf. We will help you match the right green to your light, your habits, and your corner of the world.
Leaf & Letter is run by people who still get misty over a perfect first line and who talk to their monstera like it might answer. We are not a chain, not a trend cycle—just a corner store built on the simple idea that books and plants both make life softer, stranger, and more spacious.
When you walk in, expect unhurried recommendations, honest plant advice, and the kind of quiet that lets you hear yourself think. This is a demo site for portfolio use; the feeling, we hope, is real.
Come for the book. Leave with a fern and a new favorite author.
Light through the window, paper and leaves, the hum of a neighborhood shop—this is what we mean by leaf and letter.
Skip the generic aisles. Start with a mood—we will meet you there.
Essay collections, gentle fiction, and plants that do not demand a spotlight—perfect for coffee and a long window seat.

We keep a light on for neighbors. Monthly reading nights mix aloud chapters with tea; journaling workshops borrow prompts from poetry and nature; plant potting evenings are gentle, messy, and full of laughter. Spaces are small by design—reserve a seat when you visit or follow along for dates (demo placeholders).
“I came in for a pothos and left with a novel that wrecked me in the best way. This place knows how to hold a slow afternoon.”
“It smells like paper and wet soil and something baking from next door. My favorite ritual in Ashford.”
“They remembered I was looking for a book about bees and set one aside under my name. That is not retail—that is community.”
Step off the sidewalk into something softer. We would love to help you find your next read—or your next leaf.
